A Scots Mystery
A part of the story that eludes me at the moment is a well-established family in Greenock during the late 1700's and early 1800's.
The origins of this line is yet to be discovered
- but contact has been made with some of the descendants, so there
should be more to come on this.
It is known that the early members of this line where involved with herring
fishing.
These fishing fleets would travel vast distances around the UK
coastline following the shoals of herring - which could have brought them from
eastern and south-eastern parts of England.
